I suspect foul play
It is the only way
He would ever leave this place
He’d never own
Such a burden
As to simply walk away

I suspect we’ll find him
In a week or so
Lying prostrate by the side of the road
I won’t be convinced
Of his will to live
Somewhere other than this life
He’d never exit
Never excuse himself
Not without saying something
(That doesn’t sound like him)
